Actually from the latest statistics I've seen Facebook is now more than half the user base of MySpace and it is growing much faster than MySpace. With the addition of applications, I think it is almost inevitable that it will crush MySpace.
I agree that Facebook will crush MySpace. Though both MySpace and Xanga are implementing facebook-esque features. But they not only need to catch up with Facebook, they also have to innovate on their own if they want to have any chance at succeeding.
